Another away trip in the Dorset Premier League saw the young Zebras make the long journey to Swanage Town.
With a depleted squad due to injuries and first-team call-ups, it was always going to be a big ask for the lads making the trip.
However, the young Zebras went toe-to-toe with a very experienced Swanage side and never let the occasion get to them.
Swanage took an early lead before extending their advantage midway through the first half, with their second goal coming from virtually their second kick of the game to make it 2-0.
Sherborne upped their game and took control, playing some outstanding football and dominating possession. Swanage will certainly be thanking their goalkeeper, who produced some outstanding saves, while the crossbar is probably still rattling after another effort that should have seen Sherborne back in the game before the break!

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Sherborne continuing to play front-foot football while trying to deal with Swanage’s very direct, long-ball approach, which they used to good effect.
You know it’s not your day when Swanage’s first opportunity of the second half comes from a miskicked pass by a Sherborne defender. The ball fell at the feet of a Swanage player just outside the box, who rifled it into the top corner, leaving our goalkeeper with absolutely no chance.
Despite that setback, the young Zebras never gave up. Danny Dacombe pulled a goal back to make it 3-1, with plenty of time left to get something from the game.
Sherborne continued to push forward and create chance after chance, but despite their best efforts, they couldn’t find the goals their performance deserved.
The scoreline does Sherborne no favours and certainly doesn't reflect the performance these lads put in away from home. With a depleted squad facing a vastly experienced side, the young Zebras produced an incredible effort, played some excellent football and created enough opportunities to take something from the game.
On another day, the result could have been very different. The lads can hold their heads high after a performance full of effort, character and quality.
