Founded in 1892, the Toolstation Western League consists of two divisions - Premier and Division One. Division One is at step six of the National League system. The Western League also hosts the Les Phillips Cup.

Founded in 1892, the Toolstation Western League consists of two divisions - Premier and Division One. The Premier Division is at step five of the National League system and teams can apply for promotion to step four, with successful outfits usually progressing to the Zamaretto Southern League. The Western League also hosts the Les Phillips Cup.

The league was formed in 1957 under the name Dorset Football Combination League, before becoming the Dorset Premier League for the 2002/03 season. Magna Housing Association became the competition's main sponsors during the summer of 2010.

The DPL is at step seven of the National League System, with clubs usually progressing to the Sydenhams Wessex League.
